Course goal

To understand what color is and how it is used in the practice of graphic design. This course will explore a general overview of color theory, its psychology, the implementation within design, the use of color palettes and color models.

Course outcome 

By the end of the course the students will:

  • understand the basics of color theory.
  • know where to look for color inspiration.
  • know how to identify colors in graphic design and can understand why certain colors are used over others.
  • are able to make sound judgment about which colors to use and to explain why.
